Sunderø Art Gallery congratulates Jens Erland with the Norwegian Artisans’ Honorary Prize 2017! Erland gets the prize for his long-time contribution to investigating, expanding and disseminating the art of handicrafts. The award amounts to NOK 75,000 and is given to a new artisan every other year.
The Norwegian Artisans’ Honorary Prize is given to artists on account of their unprofitable efforts in favour of craftsmen’s conditions and the social significance of handicrafts. It is NK’s own members who propose candidates for the honorary prize, and this year, ceramist Jens Erland was named on several of the proposals. Erland receives the prize at NK’s national meeting on May 19 at Hotel Jeløy Radio in Moss.
