Sindre Goksøyr

A Psychedelic Moonshiner on the Loose

Keep an eye up for Sunderø Gallery artist Sindre Goksøyr. The man is totally unscrupulous when it comes to motifs and what´s proper; Leopard spotted roosters flashing their family jewels, hilarious musicians wildly partying, you name it… anything goes.

Now you have the opportunity to treat yourself with a closer look at his prints and objects. September 15, 19.00 hrs. he opens his exhibition at Briskeby Gallery in Oslo.

Sindre Goksøyr is a part of the playful and surrealistic Dongery collective, and among Norway’s most prominent poster artists, illustrators and comic book writers. He creates sculptures in both clay and paper-maché and has participated in numerous solo and group shows. Goksøyr has published several prize-winning and critically acclaimed books, and has received multiple grants.

Terje Thorsen, CEO Tronsmo Book Store, describes him like this:

“Sindre Goksøyr is a psychedelic moonshiner who, in a unique way distills the SENSES in his drawings, paintings and posters. Either he interprets the sound of a band, the vibe of a nightspot or the feeling of being an individual, alone or in a crowd; he portrays it with cartoony empathy and clean surfaces and colors that intensify our perception. His humane approach to art is top drawer, top shelf, primo quality!”

At Briskeby Gallery Goksøyr will exhibit a series of sculptures and silk prints. If you don´t have the opportunity to visit, take a look at his works at the ArtLego shop
